VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Volunteer Application
Dear Potential Volunteer, Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Columbia County Humane Society’s volunteer team! Volunteers help the animals at the Humane Society get adopted through a variety of work efforts. These efforts include animal care, socialization and fundraising. If you join our team, many successful adoptions will take place due to your care and compassion. The shelter and the animals are not alone in receiving benefits from our volunteer program. A few of the many benefits a volunteer will receive include: satisfaction in knowing you’ve helped a life, gained experience in working with animals, meeting new people and helping forge change for future generations through education. Sincerely, Columbia County Humane Society BE PART OF THE SOLUTION – SPAY AND NEUTER!!! We welcome you as a prospective hands-on volunteer and hope that you are willing to make a long-term commitment to our program here at CCHS. Volunteers are encouraged to be members of CCHS. Please ask how to join. Step One: Complete and submit a volunteer application, which can be obtained at the main shelter or downloaded from the CCHS website. This application should be submitted in care of the Volunteer Coordinator. Step Two: Upon acceptance as a volunteer, you must attend a one-hour orientation. At orientation you will learn about the Columbia County Humane Society and sign up for the activities that you would like to do. At the end of the orientation, if you decide we are the right fit for you, we will collect a $20 volunteer fee for each individual who will be volunteering with us, which includes both adult and youth volunteers. The $20 fee is for administrative processing and materials/supplies necessary for your orientation and training as a volunteer at CCHS. This fee helps to ensure that the vast majority of our funding is spent directly on animal welfare. You will receive an official CCHS volunteer t-shirt which you must wear when volunteering.
