Looking for a rewarding part‑time job in animal welfare with a local non‑profit?

The Columbia County Humane Society is seeking one reliable, motivated self‑starter to join our team as an Animal Caregiver.

Position Overview

Animal Caregivers play a vital role in the daily care and well‑being of the animals in our shelter. This hands-on position includes the following duties, but is not limited to:

Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, their supplies and laundry duties

Handling animals with a wide range of temperaments

Using disinfecting and cleaning solutions

Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Supporting the overall health, safety, and comfort of the animals in our care.

Schedule & Pay

Starting wage: $14.00/hour

Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week

Flexibility is essential — weekdays, weekends, and holidays are required, as animal care is needed year‑round.

Requirements

Applicants must:

Hold a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record

Be eligible for coverage under our auto insurance

Be able to lift 50 pounds or more

Be dependable, hardworking, and comfortable working around animals of all sizes and personalities
